you know you live in the country when....

....your little girl starts changing the oil on the cars.

....hayrides are your main mode of transportation.
(abby and evan)

....you can't get enough of small town homecoming parades.
(just a little different from any other parade evan has seen in st. louis)
the pictures don't do it justice, (maybe they do) we didn't get the "floats" in the background.

at bigger parades they don't throw candy. so, evan had his first candy-throwing-parade experience.
at first he would run out and pick up one piece of candy and then run back.
by the end of the parade he was more efficient--he would run out and pick up quite a few before returning to the curb.

there aren't too many homecoming parades where you can be on the homecoming court and ride in a convertible, then run back three blocks to the start and ride the fire truck with your volleyball teammates and finally jump line to march with your fellow band members. okay, so you can't do all three, but speaking from experience, you can definitely do two out of the three!
