I uploaded these pictures a few weeks ago but forgot to post them.
There are more lamb pictures to come...
The little lambs are a hit around here!

Ah yes...chores! Which at this point involves more work for Mom and Dad to help their own little "lambs" get dressed and ready to go out to feed the real lambs. But you know the value of hard work and teaching that to your kids.

I remember when we were first back to the farm, Grandpa Phil sometimes brought a very sick lamb into the house and set it on top of an old towel on the huge furnace in the basement (they were still in this house, we were in the small one). The lambs would seem to be nearly dead, and the furnace must have been a very cozy, warm place to revive. Grandpa Phil just happened to go downstairs in time to catch one lamb who had come "back to life" and was about to walk off the top of the furnace. That would have been very sad...revive and recover enough to be able to stand...only to fall 5' onto cement and die of a head injury. Ouch!

We have similar photos (as I know do Kyle and Candace of their kids) of Kelsey and Jana bottle feeding some lambs in a makeshift pen near the doghouse in the little yard when they were maybe 3-5yrs old. That was the days of using a pop bottle with a nipple on it.

Can you also post pictures when you eat the lambs? :)

We have friends north of Motley, MN (near "The Cabin")who served us Barney Burgers one summer afternoon. Barney was the last of the sheep they raised to graze the poison ivy off the hill around their log home. Be sure and name your lunch, as long as Uncle Matt is mentioning this!

Dear Uncle Matt,
We would love to post pictures when we enjoy the tasty meat we raise on our farm. Our four bottle lambs are all ewes. So we plan to keep them so they can have more baby lambs next spring!
But we will be sure to invite you for some curried Millet some day soon!!!!
Let us know if there is an animal you would like us to humanely raise for your dining pleasure! ; )
