April 6, 2011.
Brooks Canaan's 1st Birthday
Tradition holds and we made Brooks a lamb cake for his first birthday.
The kids and I decided it should be a little black lamb since we have four black lambs right now.
Brooks got sick just thirty minutes before his party started. He still joined us but only for crackers and water!! Poor guy!
We love you little buddy.
You are a blessing to us!

We decided to wait to eat his lamb cake.
After 24 hours this little guy was feeling much better!

Happy Birthday Brooks! He is so cute and I think he is really starting to look like Evan.

Looks like Brooks got to celebrate in style, even if a little later. Happy belated, Mr. Sink.a.ship Dimples!

The cake reminded me of a certain lamb pinata I took to Jensen's in Minnetonka one Easter. One of the boys (Phillip or Andrew, as pictures show Alisa in a carseat, I think, so not Stefan) got quite upset at seeing the lamb whacked with a stick and had to be removed from the scene of the destruction. It hadn't occurred to me that might upset a child, as it wasn't that cute of a lamb, as I recall. It sure concerned one of the boys, though. Oops. Sorry.

A lamb cake torn into shreds by the hands of an excited one year old must be a different story now at your house! Where are the messy cake face photos???

Sorry there aren't any messy cake photos. Truth is, after I resurrected the lamb and added marshmallows, the cake was hard and dry and marshmallows don't smear like frosting!!! AND Brooks still wasn't feeling 100% so I wasn't going to push it! Maybe at Evan's birthday we will let Brooks go CRAZY!!!
