Skating @ the Skate Palace
11-11-11
Ida Grove has a real wooden floor skating rink.  It looks like a castle on the outside.  It is truly a Skate Palace.  Last year when we went skating, it was rather exhausting with two very uncoordinated children on skates.  This year Evan decided he did not need our help.  We were so proud of him...skating is not easy, but he stuck with it!
This little girl also stuck with it.  She can hold her skates parallel~which is very helpful!
Evan has been doing 5 chores everyday (M-F).  He earns $.25 each day....$1.25 per week.  He takes one quarter to AWANA, saves one quarter and has $.75 for his own.  He brought $3 of his own money to buy a treat. (that he had been saving for a month)  Snacks ranged in price from 25 cents to $5.  Evan had is heart set on the $3 bag of cotton candy.  It was his money, so he bought it!  He was very generous and shared a lot of it.  He enjoyed every sugar-y melt-in-your-mouth bite and did not regret spending his all of his money in one shot!
Thanks to Grandpa Johnson for watching Brooks-er and putting him to bed so we could enjoy the older two kids!
