Oh, we're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo...

 You can come too, too, too!!!

We went to the zoo on Wednesday, November 26th (the day before Thanksgiving).  It was great...NO ONE was there!  The walk in between buildings was chilly BUT totally worth it to have the place to ourselves.  The whole trip started because the kids won passes at the summer library reading program--long story short, we got to the Omaha Zoo & found out the passes were for the Des Moines Zoo!!!  Oh well, it still gave us a reason to have a fun family day!   

Brooks was surprised when it really hurt his hand when he touched this cactus!!!

 Penguins are the best!

 My only rule for the day was that we could not be in a hurry.  We watched the penguins for a long time!

 An added interest was the man cleaning the penguin pool.

The JUNGLE!  We saved the best for last.
