The Wash House

I really don't know when we decided to tackle cleaning out the "Wash House."  I think it was in March sometime!  The Wash House sits behind the house (just to the north and west).  It is actually 1/2 wash house, 1/2 wood shed.  We just cleaned out the wash house side.  My grandma has always called this building the "Wash House." In the old photo below you can see the old farm house (that no longer is there).  The wash house is directly to the west of the old house.  My grandma lived in the old farm house.  I am sure she made many trips back and forth to the wash house...with laundry.  I miss her.  I wish she could tell me more stories about the wash house.  I wish she could see all the work we are putting back into this farm.  

We hope to use the Wash House as an outside eating/meeting area.  I'm sure we will have many more pictures of it in use!  

We should have taken before and after pictures...but we didn't.  It was TOO overwhelming to take pictures before we started.  We kept the old washing machine that my dad remembers from the old farm house basement.  We found it fitting for the "Wash House."
