Kadunce River
This marks the longest hike we have been on as a family.
We hiked from the cabin, to the Superior Hiking Trail to the base of Kadunce River, up the Kadunce River, back down the Kudunce River and back to the cabin.  Phillip estimates it was around 11 miles.
Phillip made everyone hiking sticks.  They were really useful!  The kids were troopers.  Some of the falls were steep and dangerous.  The kids were brave and trusted Phillip completely.
We were hoping to hike to the top of the Kadunce River falls and then rejoin the Superior Hiking Trail...but the falls became too dangerous.  We had to turn around and hike DOWN all of the falls we just hiked up.  I think it is harder to go down.

We met a photographer on our way down.  He was thankful for our advice and happy to snap a picture of us.
We were contemplating having Phillip hike back to the cabin alone to get the van--and then come pick us up at the base of the Kadunce River.  We didn't know how much the kids had left in them.  We decided to make it an adventure and all hike back together.  The kids didn't complain one time.  Brooks likes to be the leader and has to run to lead the pack.  Phillip and I were impressed with our family hike.
