Bandipur

October is festival month in Nepal ~ Dashain and Tihar ~ it's break time like we have over Thanksgiving and Christmas in America...but much different celebrations.

We like to take advantage of the time off of school to explore different parts of Nepal and its culture.

Grandpa Alan was still here for Tihar break, so we traveled to Bandipur with the Williamsons.  It was LONG and very curvy trip from KTM to Bandipur.  It took twice as long to get there, the traffic was awful.  Phillip felt very sick during the jeep ride.  We were all thankful to arrive at our guest house.  We had a room with 2 beds and a mattress on the floor.  Gpa Alan had his own room and so did the Williamsons.

The guest house was run by a pastor and his family.  Their church was located directly below the Guest House.

Bandipur is the cutest little town.  We are not use to seeing streets like this!

Tihar decorations on the street.
The mountains were out!  So fun to have Grandpa Alan join us on this adventure.

We found some cool trees.
We went for hikes and enjoyed the beauty.  Abby was 6 months pregnant and I was happy to head back up the hill early with her.

Enjoying an amazing lunch spread.

These three are troopers. We are so thankful for the way they have adjusted and their positive attitudes.

When the dads go for a hike with the kids:

Jude, Libby and Anabel.
Phillip should not hike in Chacos.  He stubbed his toe and had to have it cleaned, yes, same foot as the fish bone.
The Williamson's friends traveled from the village and spent a few days with us.  It was fun to get to know Wendy and Simon.
