december 19 we had our little family christmas together.
it was a lovely morning of opening presents and playing with them.
this year we got the kids this stable and they opened up one piece each day before christmas.

december 21-26
we were able to spend at my parents' farm outside of ida grove.
matt, becky, haley & torren were there the whole time too!
can you believe this cozy little house has five bedrooms-each with a queen sized bed?
(plus three more rooms with doors that can loosely be considered bedrooms!)
three of the days we were able to go to the rec center.
the kids LOVE swimming with grandma!
my mom (and dad) had their eyes set on this beautiful ditch tree.
(yes, that means it was cut down out of a ditch less than a mile from their place)
phillip was the only one who was kind enough to humor my mom and cut down the iced over tree the day before christmas.
matt ended up going with him...which was good b/c the tree weighed over a 100 pounds with all the ice on it!
after a little thawing out, we could enjoy the oh, so memorable tree!

aunt mandy wasn't able to make it home from colorado but we were able to have her present with skype!

while we were in ida grove over a foot of snow fell.
we were snowed in until the snowplow came through on the 26th.
what a perfect place to be snowed in with some of my favorite people!!!
