GET RID OF PACI....
Check!

Anabel has been a great sleeper--thanks to her paci! But we decided with the baby coming, moving into a big girl bed and turning two...it was time to say good-bye (even though she only used it during naps and at night). We tried to take it away cold turkey in October but we failed miserably.
So with the New Year we started snipping a little off the end at a time with the hopes that she wouldn't want it. We were wrong. She still wanted the "broken" paci. Every couple of days we would snip a little more off the end. This girl was ATTACHED! We're not sure how she even kept this paci in her mouth!

Finally, one night after her bath, Phillip asked her if she wanted to throw her paci away. Amazingly she did! She put it in the trash herself and "pushed the button" (trash compactor). No more paci. Thankfully it's been a pretty smooth transition. She talks more at night before falling asleep and will cry a little at nap time. I'm also hoping her naps will stretch back out, but I'll give it time.

We're excited about her decision...but we also realize it means she is growing up!
We love you baby girl. Thanks for the love and laughter you bring into our lives!

Hooray Anabel! What a big girl :)
Sounds very, very familiar to our Maia. Because I know that at the very least, cutting the pacifier will eventually work, I'm not sweating the whole paci thing with Caden. I think we'll try to get rid of his around two years old as well. Hope you are well Missy, and congrats on the soon to be third little one!
Kelli--we got the idea to cut the paci little by little from YOU! Thanks! I'm not sure if you told me or if we heard it through the grapevine! Your kids are adorable and getting so big...it's fun to keep up with your family on your blog!
Congrats on a big 2 year old girl!
