For a supplement to our reading curriculum, we have been doing Five in a Row by Jane Claire Lambert. We read one book in its entirety each day for at least a week.  After each reading, we do an extension activity.  The book titles and activities are listed.  Examples of extensions are: Social Studies-history, relationships, character, geography, culture; Language-elements of a story, vocab, poems; Art, Math, & Science.  I thought Evan might get bored reading the same book everyday for five days, but it is one of his favorite things!!!  I have also enjoyed it!

Last week we read, How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World by Marjorie Priceman
Of course, it was essential to make an apple pie on Friday!
Prep work done...
Our list...
Making the crust...
Stirring the apples...
Filling the pie...
Basting the top crust...
Finished product....YUM!
Thanks to my friend Rachel, who introduced us to 5 in a Row!!!
