Monday, March 13 (Nepal Day 6)

Went to Higher Ground with Phillip & Hannah.  Talked to Bimila briefly.  

She gave us the key to the craft shop.  We drank coffee & browsed.  It was wonderful.

PJ made a mountain child contact.  

Met with Mike & Cindy TEAM @ Cafe Soma, then to their flat.  Both counselors & very intense conversation.  Mike walked us to Josh’s house.  

Meeting at Josh & Tina’s house. They have 4 kids-3 girls & 1 boy.  Talked over thoughts about our experience.  

Supper w/ their family--pizza.  

Walked back home & found the rest of our crew at the bakery down the street.  We walked to Durbar Square.  Every destination is a good walk, not far enough to take a taxi, but far enough for it to feel like a good walk.  It's hard to chat with one another because there is little or no sidewalks.  It's very crowded with crazy traffic & everyone is honking.  At night there are not many street lights and you have to watch your footing carefully.  We saw the royal palaces and temples.  They had been damaged by the earthquake.  Some renovations had been done but there is a lot left to do.  We stopped by the Hira Guest House.  It is an ancient Newari style guest house with very short door ways.  Phillip has visited there before.  It was a unique experience.
