Wednesday, March 15 (Nepal Day 8)
Meeting with Arbin is off. Nice to have a slower morning. Phillip got a haircut, shave, message all for $3.
Met Josh at 10:30. Rode taxi to Boudhha. Met with Brian & Lois for lunch at a Tibetan restaurant--ate sitting on the floor. Very informative, been there 5 years, 2 young kids. Learned a lot about Tibetan Buddhism.
Rode taxi back into town with Josh to Hannah’s Cafe where we met with Christine & Rose. Both doctors with TEAM who work in the community. Encouraging, honest conversation. Hannah Z met us there. We walked to Mercy Mission--the orphanage where J, H & M were doing the pastor training. Phillip led us on the “scenic” river walk. We missed the other 3 but they came back to meet us.
All 6 of us walked to the restaurant Josh recommended near KISC. We sat on the floor at a low table. Most of us ordered “Nepali Set.” Beautiful presentation & then the servers came back & offered us seconds & more! We all got drinks--lassis or tea or masala coke. Phillip ordered “C” momos, which stands for chili--very spicy, but good. Amazing meal & still it was only 400 rupies/person, about $4.
Walked back to guest house & hung out together in the main room. Matt is sharing his room tonight & his pastor friend bought cake for everyone! So full!!!
