Day 7  Saturday, July 22
It was fun to wake up at our new site with Stefan & Carrie.  (They arrived after dark on Friday night.)
Anabel likes a campsite with a clothes like hanging up.  "It makes it look colorful."

After breakfast, everyone piled into Stefan's jeep and we took the "back way" into Sequoia National Park.  The kids rode in the back and watched a movie.  We went to Redwood Canyon to hike in the biggest stand of Sequoia Trees.
Stefan and Phillip chose a 6.5 mile loop for our adventure.
A loop is great because we don't have to turn around...but also you never know how much is left to hike.  The kids did get hungry for lunch, but with Phillip's encouragement we kept hiking until we reached a stream to enjoy our lunch by.
We had incredible views on our hike.
The Sequioas did not disappoint.

After hiking a good 7 miles, we stopped to get ice cream before heading back to Eshom Campground. We chilled out for a while--reading books by the creek and playing.  Then Anabel talked us into hiking back to the waterfall.

Stefan and Carrie loved the waterfall.
Warming up on the rocks before hiking back.

Phillip made chickpea curry for supper.  Carrie and Stefan played Yahtzee with the kids.  It was a great night.
Stefan calculated that we hiked over ten miles on Saturday!!!
