July 31, 2018

Departure day.  Sioux City, Iowa Airport

Nothing can fully prepare you for the goodbyes.  Family is what brought us to where we are and family was there to send us off.  There are so many thank you to say.  I can't even start to name names.  But I can say that my family helped sort, label and pack clothes.  Family helped weigh and organize our totes.  They even bought duct tape to hold on the straps before the final weigh.  I know tying down those suitcases was much harder emotionally.  But they were there.  And for that I am so thankful.

One last picture with Keelie Mae.
This one here.  He loves hard.  He loves with all his heart.  He was so brave and strong, even though he didn't understand all of the whys, he trusted.
My sister with her baby.  Thank you for coming.  It meant the world to me, the kids and Phillip.
Such a sweet and meaningful gift.
It's real.  This is happening!
Our ten checked bags--all were between 48.5 - 50.5.  Thankfully, they didn't worry about the 50.5.
The precious airport send-off crew.  Thank you.
I love you, sweet boy.
Ready for security, passports and all!
After passing through security, we could still see our family through a glass wall.  One by one they would wave their final goodbye and walk out of the airport. It was heart wrenching.  Brooks took it especially hard.  It is so hard to watch your child hurt.  My mom and dad stayed and we could see them waving from the airplane, on Brooks' side.  I know God had it planned this way.  The emotions of sadness and excitement are hard to mix.
After lift off we were able to enjoy the flight and look forward to what was in front of us.
Jensen boys prepped and ready to fly to Chicago.
Headed to the other side of the world!
