In Chicago, we overcame our first hiccup. We arrived on time in Chicago, waited a long time for our shuttle to the international terminal. We checked into Qatar & found out we could NOT have two carryons—our backpacks could not be personal bags, too big & heavy. Long story short, we had to unpack everything, pack all heavy items into a hard carryon & check it. We then stuffed remaining items, including backpacks into 4 carryons with very small personal bags. Phillip & the kids quickly grabbed something to eat before we boarded at 5:30 for our 13+ hour fight!
Evan was super helpful in repacking & the other two were super helpful by watching a movie on the iPad. It cost us a little $$ to check the bag...but totally do able!
New carry-ons...
