Tuesday, March 7  (Travel Day 4)
Rested in “sleeping” room with baby crying, airport announcements every few minutes, snoring & phones beeping. Somehow Missy slept from 2a-5a on the hard, hard floor.  Phillip researched every known fact about Qatar.  Left room at 5 to walk around airport.  Still have our buddies Keane (will be trekking in Nepal) & Daniel (will be visiting a friend in Kathmandu).

Phillip emailed contacts about rescheduling our visit times.

New schedule:
Depart Doha 11:35 am (possibly earlier).
Arrive in Kathmandu approx 7:30 pm (we are hoping for an earlier flight)

8:00 am came really close to getting on the 8:30 am flight to KTM. We were being entered into the computer as stand by and they had room!  But then due to our transfer tickets, they backed out and wouldn't let us.  4 more hours to wait for our next flight.  We got this.
Boarded flight at 11:35, departed Doha at 12:30
Also traveling with Pratima Shrestha Nepalese woman from AZ & a Nepalese couple (all 3 who were on the original flight)

7:17 pm Tuesday:  landed in Kathmandu!!!
Submitted passports for visa & paperwork, paid money for visa & were approved.  Spent time at the luggage claim.  Thankfully Pratima was there to explain our situation in Nepalese.  Good possibility our luggage will arrive tomorrow at 1:00. Our luggage went to China.  We've worn the same thing for four days and will again until our luggage comes!

Taxi ride to our guest house.  Very fast & crazy ride in and out of cars, motorcycles & bikes on small, dirt streets. Lots of honking. Need to sleep, hopefully our bodies agree.
We have lost 1.5 days due to travel complications but are excited to be here.

Wednesday, March 8 (Nepal Day 1)
6:00 am woke up.  Felt so nice to sleep in a bed.
Showered--water is very limited here.  You have to turn a special valve to have hot water.  Flushing toilets is also to be done sparingly.  Toilet paper is go in the trash, not toilet.  (Yes, all toilet paper)

Headed out to find breakfast & head to KISC.  Got cheese croissants & chai tea at German bakery.  Went for walk on dirty, dusty, littered, broken streets with crazy honking traffic.  Dogs everywhere, even saw a cow just chilling out.

9:00 arrive at KISC.  Both met with Virginia (HR director).  She has been in Nepal for 3 years with her family.  From TX, husband works with Mountain Child.  Very down to earth, friendly &
honest.
MJ then went to observe a Year 1 class (5-6 year olds).   Then had lunch with Virginia & Samantha (primary principal).
MJ then observed Year 2 class.  Asked lots of questions.  Impressed with curriculum & standard of education.
MJ/PJ observed PE, then clubs at the end of the day.
Headed back to Goshen Guesthouse.  OUR LUGGAGE HAS ARRIVED!!!!  James, Heidi, Hannah & Matt had also arrived & picked up our luggage at the airport.  Yippee!
Chilled out a little & then went to supper at a restaurant down the street.  Interesting food.  We have to be careful about what we eat to make sure we don't get sick.  It cost $4/person for our meal.
Back to Guesthouse.  Very tired (again).
